Advanced Bitcoin Technologies AG: Change in the Supervisory Board
Frankfurt am Main, December 28, 2022 – Advanced Bitcoin Technologies AG (ABT, ISIN: DE000A2YPJ22) will make two changes to its Supervisory Board in the first quarter of 2023. Acting Supervisory Board Chairman Frank Schwab has resigned for personal convenience effective December 31 2022. In addition, the current Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Thomas Rüdesheim, resigned from his office for professional reasons with effect from February 28, 2023. Both resignations are in the best interest of the company and Mr. Schwab and Mr. Rüdesheim will continue to support ABT.
The two main shareholders of Advanced Bitcoin Technologies AG, Arriba Ventures GmbH and Zandups GmbH, which together hold 73.86% of the share capital of ABT, have made use of their right of joint appointment to the supervisory board in accordance with article 10(5) of the company’s articles of association and appointed Dr . Thomas Feldkircher, lawyer, born January 14, 1986, residing in Bludenz, Austria, as successor to Mr. Frank Schwab from January 1, 2023 and until the end of the Annual General Meeting of 2023. In addition , at the request of ABT’s Board of Directors, Mr. Liutauras Varanavicius, entrepreneur and manager, born March 17, 1970, residing in Vilnius, Lithuania, is to be appointed by the court as successor to Mr. Thomas Rüdesheim until the after the 2023 General Meeting as Supervisory Board of the company. As part of the 2023 Annual General Meeting, Dr. Feldkircher and Mr. Varanavicius are elected to the Supervisory Board by all shareholders and confirmed in their positions. In addition, Dr. Siegfried Herzog, lawyer and entrepreneur, born February 27, 1982, residing in Triesen, Liechtenstein to be elected as an alternate member of the Supervisory Board.
The supervisory board reshuffle reflects the future strategic direction of Advanced Bitcoin Technologies AG. Dr. As an experienced lawyer, Feldkircher has comprehensive crypto regulatory know-how and will support ABT’s wholly-owned subsidiary, saveroid FL GmbH, in its pursuit of MiCa regulations (“Asset Markets cryptographic”). As a long-time entrepreneur and founder of the successful FinTech startup ConnectPay, Mr. Varanavicius has significant experience in business development and B2B sales, which will benefit the Bitcoin payment plugin “SecPay – accept Bitcoin, receive Euro ” from saveroid FL GmbH. Dr. Herzog as a lawyer and entrepreneur has focused his skills in the area of crypto compliance and supports saveroid FL GmbH in the area of due diligence in connection with its registration as a TT exchange service provider with the Liechtenstein Financial Market Authority (FMA).
