Select users with access to “Starbucks Odyssey Journeys”
After Starbucks announced its entry into the NFT universe in August, the beta phase began on December 8. Selected users in the United States have the opportunity to participate in “Starbucks Odyssey Journeys”. These are interactive games, quizzes or virtual tours, for example through a coffee farm in Costa Rica. By participating in the program, users have access to discounts and exclusive experiences by earning points. There is also the possibility of collecting NFTs. Starbucks gave them the name “Journey Stamps”. NFT’s first collection is designed to reference Starbucks history and shows, for example, the chain’s first home in Seattle.

Starbucks plans to extend the beta phase
Currently, only selected users and educational program participants who have previously signed up for a waitlist are eligible to participate in “Starbucks Odyssey Journeys”. Starbucks plans to expand the beta in January 2023 to give more members the opportunity to participate. The new program is intended to expand the existing “Starbucks Rewards” loyalty program.
Use of Polygon blockchain technology
The program is based on blockchain technology developed by Polygon. In the future, users should also have the option to become active on the “Starbucks Odyssey Market”. The platform, powered by Nifty Gateway, offers users the ability to buy and sell NFTs within the community. In addition, there will also be the option to purchase digital collector stamps directly by paying with a credit card. This allows interested parties to enter the market directly without major hurdles, a crypto wallet or cryptocurrency is not required.
