Music NFT: Warner Music Group & Polygon platform plan for Web 3

Musical NFTs are becoming the new trend! At least that’s what it is Warner Music Group (WMG) convinced. As one of the world’s leading music companies, WMG is now partnering with Polygon to jointly launch the web 3 music platform LGND Music. The first great artists are already on board!

With the increasing integration of Web 3 technologies, music NFTs also seem to be gaining popularity. ZB Just recently, the Sony Entertainment giant announced support for NFTs.

Warners works with OpenSea

WMG, one of the largest music rights holders in the world, has already taken a major step towards Web 3 through its partnership with OpenSea, allowing its artists to interact with their fans in a new way. The company has taken a rather innovative approach to disrupting the traditional music industry business model.

With its latest decision, the WMG Group dives a little deeper into the world of Web 3:

In partnership with Polygon, the company plans to launch web-based music platform 3 LGND Music. This collaboration is expected to begin next year and will support digital music collections for any blockchain.

NFT music: David Guetta and Tiesto on board

The LGND Music platform will be a marketplace for artists, fans, and listeners, offering songs for sale as NFTs, among others.. Additionally, WMG artists can offer collectibles in the app as well as on the desktop interface.

With Rotating discs the platform was already attracting a big name. It is one of the main dance tags with greats like David Guetta and Tiesto.

The music industry with its fans and artists is just one example of the many application areas of Web 3. Such developments help the new technology prove its practical use.

Even media player Winamp recently added music NFTs to its platform.

As a result, users can now play their music NFTs on Polygon and Ethereum.

The official blog post states:

“Winamp supports audio and video files of ERC-721 and ERC-1155 standards and launches this new feature for Ethereum and Polygon protocols.”
